There is nothing Scott enjoys more than meeting young readers! Leaning on his theater and stand-up comedy background, Scott entertains and engages kids of all ages with his fun stories about writing, inspiration, and his own misbegotten youth. For smaller classes, he conducts a brief writer’s workshop, from which he steals all the kids’ good ideas (kidding). Presentations usually last from 45 minutes to an hour, and he is happy to take questions and sign books afterwards.
Scott lives in the New York area, so while he loves to travel, arrangements would need to be made to facilitate visits outside of the Northeast.
A few reviews of recent visits:
“His visit was a great treat from beginning to end for our Upper School students (who raved about his presentations) and faculty (who enjoyed it as much as the kids). It’s a great skill to be able to so quickly establish a rapport with your audience and keep them so fully engaged for the entire assembly. What a great combination of inspiration, information, and entertainment the day was.” – Cynthia Millman, Town School
“The students asked great questions about the book and the writing process. He gave comical, insightful answers which kept students engaged in a constant q & a dialogue. Though a work of fiction, Gods of Manhattan is a great starting point and fun tie-in for a NYC history curriculum.” – Riverdale Country Day School
